COVID-19 CRISIS: Bishop Stuart University donates 5,000kgs of posho to Mbarara Covid-19 Taskforce

Bishop Stuart University, Mbarara has joined other institutions to donate towards fight against coronavirus (PHOTO/File).

MBARARA – Bishop Stuart University Mbarara has donated 5,000kgs of posho
and 30 bunches of matooke to Mbarara District COVID-19
taskforce .

The donation was handed over by the university chancellor,
who is also Ankole Diocese Bishop Sheldon Mwesigwa and the Vice Chancellor, Prof Mauda Kamatenesi.

The chairperson of Mbarara COVID-19, Taskforce, who is also the RDC, Lt Col James Mwesigye.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, , Bishop Mwesigwa noted that there are many needy people who are affected by the lockdown.

Mwesigwa appealed to all leaders and local people who can afford to
come up and give a helping hand in the fight against coronavirus by
giving social and economic aid.

Prof Kamatenesi
said that as staff they managed to contribute as one way to support
people who are in lockdown without something to eat in their families
mostly especially in towns.

Lt Col Mwesigye hailed all those who have come up to help in
this trying moment.
