Greenhill Academy Primary retains schools swimming championship

KAMPALA – Greenhill Academy Primary School remained supreme as they claimed the Uganda Swimming Federation (USF) Midland National Primary Swimming Gala held on Saturday March 7, 2020.

The event hosted by Greenhill Academy leading swimming schools in the country. Key among others Kampala Junior Academy, Kampala Parents School, Seeta Junior School, and King Fahad Islamic School.
Others were Hillside Naalya, St. Catherine Junior School Sonde, Entebbe Junior School, Twinbrook School and many more.

The Namuwongo based school amassed a total of 1,897 points to finish the one day swimming gala as the champions.

Kampala Junior Academy scooped the 2nd position with 1,501 points followed by Seeta Junior School with 1,357 points.

The event showcased the swimmers’ rare talents as they competed in various races like the butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle races to mention but a few as they were cheered on by their housemates. As the swimmers put on their best show to win, one could not help but notice the audience which marveled at the swimmers’ capabilities.

Greenhill headteacher Moses Kirinya said the tournament helps swimmers get national rankings with the national federation.

The Katatumba Academy from Mbarara, Twinbrook Junior School and St. Catherine Junior School are some of the new schools that joined Kampala Junior Academy, Seeta Junior School, Kampala Parents School, Mother Care, King Fahad, Sir Apollo Kaggwa and Seeta Junior schools for the one-day gala.

Midland Group of Companies is one of the leading sponsors of swimming in the country and have always sponsored a swimming competition every year.
