
KAMPALA – The former Managing Director of dfcu Bank, Mr Juma Kisaame, has been appointed the new chairperson of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Board of Directors.
Mr Kisaame, who left dfcu Bank at the end of 2018, replaces Simon Kagugube, who passed on recently.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of the new Chairperson of our Board of Directors, Mr Juma Kisaame. Congratulations to him from the URA Family,” URA said in a brief statement on Monday, March 23, 2020.
Mr Kisaame brings wealth of experience having served at dfcu Bank for over 20 years. Kisaame joined dfcu limited, the holding company in 1992 as head of finance and held several senior positions before being appointed as managing director in 2007 – a position he held for 11 years till the board announced his retirement plans at the end of 2018.
During his tenure as CEO, the bank recorded a three-fold balance sheet growth to over Shs3trillion, liquid assets of over Shs1.26 trillion, customer deposits of over Shs1.9trillion and total equity in excess of over Shs450billion.
Since 2006, he has served as a Director on the Board of Jubilee Holdings Limited, the parent company of Jubilee Insurance. Since January 2015, he also serves as the Chairman of Uganda Investment Authority. In 2002, he founded Uganda Leasing Association and served as its President from 2002 until 2006.
