KAMPALA – The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) is Friday set to release last year’s Senior Four results.

Mr Daniel Odongo, Uneb executive secretary, confirmed that the results will be handed over to the Education minister Janet Museveni for release at Office of the President Auditorium at 10:00 am in Kampala.

Ms Museveni will preside over the ceremony.

“The Minister for Education and Sports shall release 2019 UCE results on Friday 31st January 2020, 10 am at the President’s Office auditorium,” the statement reads.

This will be the fourth time for Education and Sports Minister and First Lady Janet Museveni to release UCE results ever since she was appointed the political head of the ministry in 2016.

A total of 337,697 candidates registered to sit for the 2019 Uganda Certificate of Examinations (UCE) from 3,531 centers across the country.

This represents an increment of 963 candidates (0.28 percent) from 2018

Out of the 337,697 candidates, 144,260 are from government schools and 193,437 private. The total registered candidates include 401 candidates with various forms of disabilities such as blindness (36), dyslexia (sighted 21; blind four), hearing impairment (60) and severe physical handicap (75). Those with low vision are 88 while those in need of extra time are 117

According to Dan Odongo, the UNEB secretary-general, the number of female candidates surpassed that of males making up to 50.2 percent, an increase from 49.5 percent in 2018.
