KABALE– Panic and fear is mounting residents in Ndorwa West County in Kabale District as three area fellows were arrested in Rwanda.
Gordon Tugumisirize, Zabulon Komunda and Marvelous Naturinda residents of Bwaya village in Buramba parish, Kabale District were arrested on Thursday, January 16 while in Kivuye market in Burera District, Northern Province at around 11:00 am.
It is said that the detainees had crossed to Rwanda through one of the porous border points in Rubaya Sub-county to sale off their sorghum.
A Relative to one the victim who preferred anonymity said that the trio had taken sorghum to Kivuye market on Thursday after they had learned that Rwanda and Uganda border is open.
Rubaya Sub-county chairperson Canon Enock Kazooba says the trio’s arrest in Rwanda has increased fear and tension among the area residents.
Kazooba, however, appealed to Ugandans to avoid crossing porous borders until the tension between the two countries are ironed out.
