KAMPALA – Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has said that police raided their office on Monday but did not take any of their critical documents.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday, a day after he was arrested by police for attempting to hold a consultation meeting in Gayaza, Kasangati Town Council in Wakiso District, Bobi Wine said they are aware of the task ahead and they will not give up.

“We condemn in the strongest terms possible that a year old baby almost lost life yesterday and several were arrested. Yesterday the police raided our office and good enough they didn’t take our important documents because we hide them in the sky,” he said.

“Our challenge is we are dealing with a government that doesn’t respect the law. We are telling President Museveni and his police to respect the law and the ground should be levelled. We are taking you on in 2021 and we are winning,” he added.

Bobi Wine added that the Gulu consultation meeting, which was scheduled to take place today, will not happen.

“We are not going for the Gulu consultation meeting today. This is because we have to make sure our arrested colleagues are out. Our Lira consultation meeting is on because we have met all the guidelines,” he said.

Butambala MP Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi said: “Kasangati was an open place but an open place can facilitate a consultation because this an exchange between a candidate and people.”

He stressed that they will continue with their consultation meetings as scheduled without fail.

“In People Power we are going to continue with this programme on the dates as we have set out. It is incumbent upon the police to abide by the law, “he said.
