KAMPALA – Police who had a back up of sister security agencies including CMI, ISO, and the army has arrested four men suspected to be connected to the killing of a prominent Chinese businessman.

Fan Xiping, a popular businessman was murdered from his residence in Mbuya II, Nakawa Division, and Kampala on Friday, December 20, 2019.

The deceased, who was a resident of Mbuya 2 zone in Nakawa division, is said to have been tied and later killed by his house helpers on Friday night.

The police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan, Luke Owoyesigyire said investigations into the matter are underway, however, he cautions natives to avoid keeping large sums of money on them.

In the latest news, Oweyisigyire says four suspects were arrested from Jinja where they were hiding.

He said the suspects who have been arrested and are confessing include; Joshua Nsereko 22, Emmanuel Adama 25, Dan Ngobi 21.

“We also recovered exhibits like mobile phones of the deceased from them,” Oweyisigyire said on Christmas adding that efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspect one Shamim who is still at large.
He commended the task teams who participated in this operation.
The suspects have been charged with murder and aggravated robbery CRB 967/19 of Jinja road Police Station.

The Inspector-General of Police — IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has in his Christmas message asked the public to remain mindful about opportunistic criminals who would wish to take advantage of the slightest opportunity to commit crimes in the festive season.

IGP Ochola said so far, the festive month of December, is still generally peaceful, simply because police have countered and disrupted the advance preparations of criminals, early enough.

These and many positive results, he says were entirely due to the collaborative and strategic alliances the force has made with other sister security agencies, like the UPDF, CMI, ISO, ESO, and other partners under the Criminal Justice System.
