JOHANNESBURG – People Power movement leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on Sunday, December 8, met Julius Malema, the leader of South Africa’s opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters.

According to a statement from People Power, the two youthful leaders discussed issues of mutual interest affecting both Uganda and South Africa, and the continent at large.

Malema, whose party members are known for their trademark red overalls, is one of the most vibrant opposition leaders in South Africa, vehemently advocating for youth employment and leading the call to seize land from the whites and return it to the blacks.

Bobi Wine has been in South Africa since last week, first to receive the Africa Freedom Award and then holding music shows in Capetown and Johannesburg.

“Thank you Cape town, it was very reassuring to see that you’re even more committed to the struggle for freedom. Many thanks to the People Power leadership in Western Cape. Next stop is Johannesburg.
It’s going to be powerful tonight. I already feel like am going to make up for all the time I’ve been blocked from performing musically back at home. Tugenda kubakuba ragga, asigadewo bamufumbise emere!
#Mission2021,” he posted on Sunday.
