KAMPALA – Kampala socialite Brian Kirumira, aka Bryan White, was on Saturday forced to pay UGX148 million as settlement for part of the debt he owes Captain Mike Mukula.

On Friday, Bryan White was arrested on the orders of Capt Mukula on allegations of obtaining goods by false pretence after he allegedly bought the latter’s luxurious cars and failed to pay back. He spent the night in the coolers.

But following between the two, the socialite agreed to pay Capt Mukula the money, with an agreement to clear the balance soon. It is not immediately clear whether the socialite paid outstanding rent arrears to his landlord, who is also demanding Shs500m.

“Humility is a virtue! I have resolved all outstanding issues with BRIAN WHITE-Kirumira as patriots and nationalists. Chapter CLOSED,” Mukula tweeted on Saturday.

Police raided Kirumira’s home in Buziga in Makindye on Friday morning and impounded two vehicles. The third car was tracked and intercepted along Entebbe Road.

Each vehicle costs around Shs350m. This was the second time police were conducting a related operation at Mr Kirumira’s home in just one year.

In July 2018, police raided the socialite’s home and impounded a luxurious Mercedes Benz Cross Country on allegations that he acquired it fraudulently.
