ENTEBBE —Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court has charged a police officer over the murder of Joshua Nteireho and Merina Tumukunde on the Entebbe Expressway in September.

Davis Talemwa, a police constable, appeared before magistrate Joanita Muwanika to listen to the charges.

Talemwa and others still at large are accused of murdering Nteireho and Tumukunde on 5th September at Nambigirwa Bridge on Entebbe Expressway in Katabi Town Council.

However, Ms Muwanika could not allow the accused to plead to the charges because murder is a capital offence only tried by the High Court.

She remanded him until November 18 when he returns to court for mention of his case.

“When investigations are complete you will be committed to the High Court for trial. Prosecution is given six months to conclude the investigations,” she said.
