Man confesses to terrorising city dwellers, arrested as police recovers nine guns in one month

NSANGI —Police have during a night security operations, recovered a gun, registration  Number UG poal 11002647_101858, with three rounds of ammunitions.

Police says, the gun was recovered from one a Abdallah Kyaze a resident of Kibuye railway line area at Mayinja.

Kampala Metropolitan Area deputy Police spokesperson Luke Oweyisigyire says the suspect was arrested while heading to Maya, Nsangi from kibuye, with the gun wrapped in an empty bag of sugar.

The suspect allegedly told Police that that he was sent to bring the gun to Nsangi for a night mission in Nsangi by one Yazidi.
On interrogation, Mr. Oweyisigyire says, the suspect revealed that they have done robberies in areas of Kalerwe, Luzira, Salama road, Kabalagala, Namasuba, Natete, Wakaliga Busega, and Bweyogerere and other places carrying out different robberies.

This brings to nine the total number of guns recovered in less than a month.

Mr. Oweyisigyire lauded citizen’s vigilance and cooperation in restoring security in the country.

He also urged the public to share with police any confidential information regarding criminality.
