KAMPALA – The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen David Muhoozi  has called for intensified ideological education to cement and galvanise what has been already passed on to all officers and militants of UPDF.

Gen. Muhoozi made the remarks as he officiated at an ideological training evaluation symposium organized by the UPDF Chieftaincy of Political Commissariat at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs headquarters in Mbuya.

The symposium aimed at evaluating the impact and importance of Ideological training on Defence leaders, UPDF senior officers and militants.

Gen Muhoozi applauded the UPDF for being a patriotic, pan-Africanist army always ready to uphold democratic principles and one that can forge mechanisms aimed at improving peoples’ welfare.

He noted that UPDF has evolved over time since its inception as evidenced by the level of training and professionalism exhibited in all its formations and units.

The CDF further told participants that UPDF needs voices that can address the youth challenge since there is need for a system that is realistic, durable and able to meet organizational convictions.
“Every organization has its mission, its ethos, and therefore UPDF is no exception,” Gen Muhoozi said, urging the attendants to become UPDF disciples.
