NAKASEKE – The Territorial Police in Ngoma, Nakaseke District, has in custody a suspect who hacked to death a mother and her two sons, aged 13 and 3, using an axe.
The incident which occurred on the night of September 6, 2019, was reported by Nakaye Teddy, a 52-year-old peasant.
According to the Police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga, the suspect was charged to court on September 16, 2019, with 3 counts of aggravated murder.
“It is alleged that the suspect Kimeze Festo, a 35-year-old, charcoal burner, was cohabiting with Namukisa Pauline, a 40-year-old adult female, who came with her two sons, Kizza Robert 13, and Kato Bob 2. They had stayed together for the last 6 months as a family,” he explained.
CP Enanga said that the suspect admits to hacking the three to death, after failed attempts to recover his saw machine, which he suspected was stolen by his lover and her two sons.
“Upon arrest he led detectives to where the axe was hidden and it was recovered. The bodies of the three victims were subjected to post mortem examination and handed over to the relatives for burial,” Enanga said.
He condemned such cruel and inhumane acts of violence saying they have no justification whatsoever.
“The victims had become part of his family and he should have explored all available means of seeking justice through the LCs, friends, relatives and the police,” he said.
