MBARARA – Global Coaches services have been suspended by the Transport Licensing Board, following Tuesday night accident that claimed five people at Kyabadaza in Butambara, Mpigi along Masaka highway, after one of their buses collided with a taxi number UBA 969 W.

Sources have revealed that the Transport Licencing Board has summoned all the drivers to Kampala to in an attempt to identify the root cause of all these endless accidents that have engulfed the company.

Apparently, in Mbarara, transport has been paralysed since the morning after Global Coaches were barred from ferrying passengers from either Mbarara or from Kampala to Mbarara. This has caused other companies like SwiftSafaris, BabyCoaches, Kkingo, to hike their fees.

In the Mbarara Bus Park – as on Wednesday morning, August 28, other buses charge is UGX 30,000 from the original fees of UGX15,000 and UGX20,000 respectively if one is travelling from Mbarara to Kampala.

It should be noted that early this year, the transport licensing board had issued a warning to the global couches company over the spate of accidents they get involved in but this did not yield anything.
