KAMPALA – Buganda Road court grade one magistrate, Ketty Joan Acaa has directed the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to produce all his intended witnesses in the OTT case against Hon Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine by September 17, 2019 without fail.

The magistrate’s order was prompted by the State Prosecutor Ms Barbra Kyomugisha who has informed court that she had not summoned any witnesses to testify today.

Bobi Wine and his co-accused;  Fred Nyanzi , Julius Katongole , David Lule and Edward Sebuufu ( Eddie Mutwe) had appeared in court on Monday, August 12, for the hearing of their case.

Ms Kyomugisha subsequently requested the magistrates to avail her another opportunity at a later date; September 17 to enable her organise and present her witnesses. Citing the fact that police needs to wind up with all its investigations in this matter.

The accused legislator and his co-accused allegedly held a public rally without authorization from police which act prosecution contends offended sections of the Public Order Management Act.

The authority was under mandate to ensure that none of the participants in the said meeting was armed.

The contentious meeting was allegedly held on July 11, 2018 at the Constitutional Square in Kampala was aimed at demonstrating against the then newly-introduced social media tax.
