
LUZIRA – Kyaddondo East Member of Parliament Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known by his stage name – Bobi Wine has on Wednesday August 21 spent the better part of the at Luzira Maximum Security Prison visiting People Power supporters “who are incarcerated there over different flimsy charges.”
The popular budding opposition figure started off by visiting Dr. Stella Nyanzi at the women’s prison.
Dr. Nyanzi, a former university lecturer and researcher was put in Luzira prison for nine months for calling President Museveni a “pair of buttocks” among other obscenities.

Bobi Wine said that he was very glad to find her in very high spirits.
“She sends greetings to all comrades in the struggle and encourages all of us to soldier on,” he said.
Bobi Wine late went to the men’s prison and visited several other whom he said are being held on ridiculous charges- including several of them who have been arrested for putting on red berets.
“What I am glad about is that none of these comrades is discouraged,” he noted adding that: “on the contrary, they are all more determined to fight the injustices in Uganda, having been victims of it and tasted it firsthand.”
Bobi Wine said that he also encouraged them to know that all oppressed people stand with them and ultimately, “we shall overcome!”

The singer turned politician was also charged with intending to annoy, alarm or ridicule the president, in addition to a previous charge of treason.
