KAMPALA – Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira on Sunday 11th August 2019 presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of a new modern Church.

Estimated to accommodate over 1000 Christians, the St. Stephen Church of Uganda Kiwenda in Gayaza Archdeaconry will cost 1 billion Uganda Shillings.

In his teaching, the Rev. Wilberforce focused on 2nd Corinthians 8:1, “and now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.’’

The church whose main source of funding is contributions from the Christians is expected to be completed within a period of 2 years.
