KAMULI – Two people have been killed and one severely injured following an attack on a family in Kamuli district by machete welding men on Sunday night.

The Busoga North Police Spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, says the assailants hacked a man and his wife to death, leaving their daughter with life-threatening injuries.

Kasadha said the assailants called out Kisuule Ndirugendawa, 63, and chopped him dead with a machete before hacking his wife Frances Namusaabi, 47 a teacher at Bwoko Nursery School in Nabwigulu Sub-county.

Their daughter, Ms Gloria Namugolo (19) who raised an alarm was cut and left for dead but was rushed to Kamuli Mission Hospital where she was later referred to Jinja Regional Hospital.

Police quoting nurses at Jinja Regional Hospital says she’s responding well to the intense medical care.

Kasadha says that no suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack but police investigations into the matter have kicked off.

The incident comes barely after a month when another group of machete welding men attacked several villages in Busoga sub region and killed five people as well as injuring several others
