KAMPALA – The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has pledged to support the activities of the Busoga Tourism Queens in growing the pageantry and tourism in the region.

Ms. Kadaga said that supporting Miss Tourism in Busoga would boost the image of the sub-region.

“I am in full support of the work and all the activities of Miss Tourism because we need people to come visit our tourist attractions in Busoga,” she added.

The Speaker said this while responding to the request of the Tourism pageants from Busoga region led by Miss Uganda, Quiin Abenakyo and Ruth Kitamirike, Queen of Tourism, Busoga 2019.

Kitamirike said that the beauty queens from within the region need the support of the Speaker to visit schools and promote the girl-child campaign, tree planting.
She, however said they have some challenges to deal with in the process.

“We do not have enough money and transportation to move around doing our work; some of us have no jobs yet we graduated and those in school do not have school fees,” Kitamirike added.

Abenakyo on behalf of the team also celebrated the recovery of the Speaker from her recent illness.
