KAMPALA – State Minister for Higher Education, John Chrysostom Muyingo has Thursday Morning, February 28, released the 2018 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examinations (UACE) results at President’s Office, Kampala.

UNEB executive secretary Dan Odongo says that those who will not be able to go to schools and pick results will access the results by SMS or via the internet.

“Any person wishing to access results can do so through their mobile phones. Go to message menu and type ‘UCE’, leave space, type correct candidate index number and then send to 6600.”

PML Daily brings you an easy and hassle-free SMS service that will make it possible for candidates to check and access their results.

This is also the official procedure announced by the Ministry of Education and Sports.

To access the service, a user should simply send an SMS from a mobile phone to code number 6600.

To construct a valid SMS, users should enter a prescribed keyword followed by their index number and send the SMS to 6600.

The user should then receive his/her examination results or registration details instantly.

Each SMS sent to 6600 is charged Shs 500 on both Airtel and MTN networks, therefore, users must ensure that they have enough credit on their phones. UNEB says the SMS service is voluntary.

The detailed instructions and examples are given in the following table.

Type UACE, leave space, Index number and send to 6600.
For example UACE U1016/502 REG4 space Index number
e.g. REG4 U1016/502

A total of 99,672 students registered for 2018 UACE out of who 53,359 are males and 41,313 females from 2,217 centres across the country. Details of the meeting have, however, remained undisclosed to the media.

The number of candidates registered for the 2018 UACE reduced by 2,335 compared to the 102,007 candidates who sat for UACE exams in 2017.

Of the registered candidates for 2018, the Government sponsored candidates are 18,550 (including 12,577 males and 5,973 females), while private candidates are 81,122 (including 45,782 males and 35,340 females).

The UACE comes at a time when students and parents have been waiting for results with bated breaths.

PML Daily team is more than ready and will throughout the day bring you all details about the results.
