HAPPENING NOW: MPs grill Finance Minister, BoU officials over banks hullabaloo

KAMPALA – Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has together with the Bank of Uganda senior officials on Friday morning appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Commissions Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises that is investigating the central bank over controversial closure of seven commercial banks including Crane Bank that was transferred to dfcu Bank in January 3017.

Mr Kasaija appeared together with Governor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile and his deputy Dr. Louis Kasekende.

The Committee is winding up the inquiry and will make a report by the end of the month.
