KABALE – State Minister for Planning David Bahati has said that People Power political pressure group led by Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has no capacity to dislodge the ruling NRM party out of power.

Speaking during Liberation Day celebrations in Kabale district on Saturday, Mr Bahati, who is also the NRM chairman for Greater Kabale, said People Power has no structures to garner political support in rural areas.

“NRM party is solid in Kigezi sub-region and Uganda in general. We have no doubt that whichever political party comes here shall be defeated. People Power movement is a nonstarter organization that has no foundation and non-existing thus cannot stand the test of time,” he said.

“Celebrating the 33 years of NRM government is not early campaigns but rather building the momentum and celebrating the achievements of NRM government. It is the NRM government momentum that is taking our country from peasantry to a prosperous nation and we are just continuing with the work that we have been doing over the years,” Mr Bahati said.

The Liberation Day celebrations in Kabale district climaxed with a football competition in Ndorwa West Constituency. Mr Bahati explained that organizing a football competition for the youth in the area is to mobilize them towards talent development.

“As we come to the end of our constituency football competitions, let us also join the whole nation and celebrate the NRM day. Let us thank

God for the gift of good NRM leaders that shed their blood in a bush struggle to deliver development in our country. President Museveni is a gift from God that all Ugandans should keep supporting for continued

development.” Mr Bahati said.

“We are building on what the generation of President Museveni did in 1986 when they liberated this country. They stood for the freedom, security, democracy and prosperity of our people and the integration of the African community,” he added.
