PAKWACH ACCIDENT: Death tolls to 17 – Police

PAKWACH – Police has confirmed the death of 17 fishmongers emanating from a fatal accident that occurred on Sunday, January 13 in Pakwach district.

According to the police, the incident happened along Panymur road at 8:30 pm when the Fuso truck registration number UAV 118 F carrying market vendors lost control on a slope and overturned, killing 17 on spot.

In a tweet on the Uganda police’s official page, reports indicate the accident killed 17 people on spot leaving 10 with score injuries.

“Fatal accident in Packwach yesterday claimed 17 lives on spot &10 others injured” police confirmed.

On Sunday, according to eyewitnesses, at least 14 people including 12 women lost their lives on spot and several injured.

However, in the latest developments, police have confirmed the number of the deceased (17) who it says died on spot.
