KAMPALA- Police leadership has Sunday morning confirmed arresting a key suspect in connection to the murder of Arch Rwego, a businessman murdered recently in front of his family in Wakiso district
The suspect whose identities have been withheld by police was picked up from Kamwokya on Thursday following a confession by one of the suspects picked up earlier.
The arrest of the suspect brings to four the number of suspects in police custody in connection to gruesome murder. Police had earlier arrested three other suspects with the help of sniff dogs.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed the arrest of the fourth suspect.
“We have another suspect in our custody. We are soon taking them to court,” Owoyesgyire confirmed.
But said once the Government Analytical Laboratory release reports on the blood stained clothes found in the home of one of the suspects, they will proceed the suspects to Court.
The laboratory is also supposed to make a report on the blood found at the scene from the dog comparing it that the blood samples taken from one of the suspects who was found with a dog bite on his neck.
He also said that Police are hunting for the security guard who reportedly provided the group with information indicating that the deceased’s wife, Dora Asio, an accountant by profession usually returns home with cash.
Oweyisigire said, the guard is also said to have given the group a plan on how they could access the house during his absence.
Arch Rwego, a Kampala-based furniture business dealer, was brutally murdered in front of his wife last week.
The President Yoweri Museveni in a lengthy this week attributed the increasing trend murders to the corruption in police, lack of vigilance from the public and failure by the police to implement his directives.
