KIRUHURA- President Yoweri Museveni has hailed the people of Kashongi county Kiruhura district for voting visionary leaders that have the capacity to work with the government and plan to lobby for the provision of quality services to development in the area.

Museveni said this after inaugurating the extension of water system under the National Water and Sewerage Corporation which is connected to Rubindi gravity flow scheme to Kashongi county, including the construction of the new complex structure for Kashongi Farmers Sacco where he contributed Shs50 million.

The General Manager Kashongi Farmers’ SACCOS Ms Rise Kiconco said the construction of the storeyed structure is planned to cost Shs1.4 billion that will contain a supermarket, social hall, and offices for the Sacco.

Mr Museveni thanked the Member of Parliament Kashongi County Hon Genensio Tumuramye for being a visionary leader who is committed at lobbying for his people to benefit from the national cake.

Tumuramye reminded the president of the pledges he made to the people of Kashongi from 2000 that had never been full filed.

Museveni warned the staff in the President’s office to desist from failing his pledges. He said people asking the head of state for a mere Shs10 million is shameful. He threatened to sell some of his bulls to fulfill his pledges if they do not act soon.

Museveni revealed that because the people elected a visionary NRM legislator who is cooperating with the government, he will ensure that Ruhumba-Byanamira-Kiruhura road is tarmacked to improve service delivery and marketing of local products.

Other roads to be tarmacked include Bwizibwera-Bukiro-Nsiika, Nyakashaka-Nyakabirizi, Bwizibwera -Nyakashaka- Masheruka-Kabwohe-Kitagata and Rushere-Kinoni-Nyabitanga-Ntutsi.
