Lands ministry commences countrywide consultations on land acquisition bill 2018

KAMPALA– The ministry of lands, housing, and urban development has embarked on countrywide consultations on the land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation policy and land acquisition bill 2018.

The first consultations are being held in Bunyoro sub-region where Betty Amongi, the minister for lands will address the meeting that is underway at Miika Resort Hotel in Hoima.

The theme of the meeting is “Land acquisition for infrastructure development.”

Ms Naome Kabanda, the commissioner for lands said that six regional consultations shall be conducted countrywide to inform the bill.

 

The ministry says it’s in a drive to sensitize citizens know their land rights and communities, ensuring socials accountability and transparency.
