MUKONO – A woman has dragged Samia Bugwe North MP Gideon Onyango to court, accusing him of neglecting his one-year-old baby

In the case filed before Mukono Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Juliana Ainembabazi accuses Onyango of abandoning her since last year when they had the baby.

“I met Mr Onyango in 2013 before becoming an MP and I was working in Mukono town by then,” she told court.

She added that after impregnating her, he promised to marry her and even rented her a house of shs400,000 per month in Bweyogerere.

Ainembabazi said consequently, Onyango changed his attitude towards her and started avoiding her. She added that in 2017, when the child was born, he came and forcibly took away the child and he was forced to return it when police intervened.

She added that since then, Onyango has refused to give her support.

“I have tried to call him but he doesn’t pick until I reported the case in probation office where they called him and he refused to come. that’s when they referred me to Mukono court,” she said.

Ainembabazi also called on state minister for youth Nakiwala Kiyingi and Speaker Rebecca Kadaga to intervene so that Onyango supports the child.

“The child is too young to be given out, and it’s the only child I have in my life so it would be better if he gives me support because I left working because of him after promising to be with me and to support me, ” Ainembabazi said.

When contacted, Mr.Onyango refused to comment, since the matter is in court.

Grade One magistrate Pamela Bomukama told the complainant that since she had filed a similar case with Busia court, it is this court that will listen to the case.
