GULU- The jailed Kyadondo East Mp Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and 32 others will today appear before the Gulu High Court judge for the hearing of their bail application.

The group that is facing charges of treason are set to appear this morning before Justice Stephen Mubiru.

According to one of their lawyers Mr Asuman Basalirwa, some of the grounds that were listed for bail include; bail as the constitutional right for the accused people, some are of advanced age while some were badly beaten and need immediate medical attention outside the confines of prison.

Other grounds include; some are legislators with responsibilities and their continued incarceration will continue to deny their people representation in parliament among others.

“This court has discretion in the matters of this nature,” Mr Basalirwa said.

The group that are on charges of Treason are said to have allegedly  connived with others still at large to stone the presidential motorcade at Arua during a political rally to fill the vacant post of Arua municipality MP following the murder of  former legislator Ibrahim Abiriga .

The Grade one magistrate Yunus Ndiwalana has since stopped the accused from pleading to the grave offense whose jurisdiction only lies under the High Court.

Last week the General Court Martial chaired by Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti withdrew the charges regarding to unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition against Bobi Wine.
