Mr Museveni speaks to mourners at Hon. Abiriga’s house. He called the shooters idiots.

Parliament – Francis Mwijukye, MP(Buhweju MP) has lashed out at President Yoweri Museveni for engaging in political rhetoric when Ugandans are being killed daily, saying it is time he put an end to killings instead of insulting the killers as cowards.

The FDC Legislator made the remarks this afternoon while paying tribute to fallen Arua Municipality MP, Ibrahim Abiriga at a special sitting held at Parliament.

Col.(rtd) Abiriga, was shot dead near his home in Kawanda, Wakiso on Friday 8th June 2018alongside his body guard Said Congo while on his way home by unknown assailants.

“I hear talks of these are idiots, these are cowards. If we are going to continue being killed by and cowards, then we aren’t serious. We must realize that this is a very serious matter and stop political comedy. These can’t be cowards, these can’t be idiots they are serious killers,” Mwijukye explained.

He also castigated those praising Abiriga for being patriotic saying their praises shouldn’t stop at words, but that should go down to helping the deceased’s family.

Mwijukye said: “Abiriga has been talked about as a patriot, honest and very loyal. I hope that patriotism will be reflected in how we care for his children. I hope the children will benefit from that patriotism of the father, they will not go suffer because Abiriga has gone.”

He leaves behind a wife and nine children.
