Rwanda partners with EPL side Arsenal FC on “Visit Rwanda” campaign

KIGALI: The Rwanda Development Board has been unveiled as the first official Arsenal FC sleeve partner as part of the Rwanda’s drive to become a leading global tourist destination, using ‘Visit Rwanda’ messaging.

The prestigious three-year deal will recognises ‘Visit Rwanda’ as Arsenal our official Tourism Partner.

The deal will see the Visit Rwanda Logo feature on the left sleeves of the Arsenal FC’s team kits across the men, women and academy teams.

Sports Coaching camps, appearances, mentions and displays on the various platforms, backdrops and premium advertising billboards, among others will categorise the deal as Visit Rwanda harnesses the mileage of Arsenal FC’s affinity with Africa.

Known for its breathtaking scenery, Rwanda is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa with a booming tourism sector that has seen the number of tourists (visitors) double over the last decade to over 1 million.

A land of remarkable beauty with vast lakes, ancient rainforests, majestic wildlife and welcoming charm, Rwanda’s national parks attract a record number of tourists due to growing numbers of wildlife – black rhino, lions, zebra, chimpanzees and the famous mountain gorillas- and the growing hospitality industry making it a tranquil to experience longer and special memorable vacations.

“This is an exciting partnership which will see us support Rwanda’s ambition to build their tourism industry. Rwanda has been transformed in recent years and Arsenal’s huge following will bring Rwanda into people’s minds in a new and dynamic way,” said Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal FC’s chief commercial officer.

Rwanda Development Board Chief Executive Officer, Clare Akamanzi, could not conceal the joy of the new partnership with Arsenal.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Arsenal and showcasing the vibrancy and beauty of Rwanda, a country pulsating with energy, creativity and innovation,” said Ms Akamanzi.

The partnership will see players from Arsenal men’s and women’s teams visit Rwanda with club coaches host coaching camps to support the development of the game for boys and girls in the country.

‘Visit Rwanda’ will gain global exposure through branding on matchday LED boards at Emirates Stadium, all the interview backdrops and a broad range of other marketing rights. They will also have the opportunity to engage our fans around the world through the club’s social media channels.
