KAMPALA: The High Court in Kampala has Monday evening sent media personality David Kazoora aka J. Kazoora to six months at Luzira prison for failing to pay off a bank loan amounting to Shs53 million.
Kazoora was arrested on Monday at Lugogo by-pass in Kampala by baillifs from Tuskem Associates who have been trailing him for the past one year since he breached the payment schedule he made with the bank United Bank of Africa (UBA) from where he borrowed the money in 2015 .
Deputy registrar in-charge of the Execution Division of the High Court Deo Nzeyimana signed the committal warrant sending Kazoora off to civil prison and ordered UBA to pay a daily fee of Shs3,000 to cater for Kazoora’s meals.
In 2014, David Kazoora was dragged to court in Rwanda as prosecution accused him of diverting an advertising project from Buddies Production (R) Limited, where he was co-owner, to his new firm, Buddies Tv Ltd thus fleecing his partner of dividends.
