HIGH COURT: Maj. General Jim Muhwezi has run to the High Court seeking orders to block his eviction from land on Block 273 Kyadondo, at Kyamula -Salaama in Makindye division .

The former Health Minister on Tuesday filed an application seeking court to stay execution of the order through his lawyer Ahmed Mukasa Kalule.

Maj Gen Muhwezi claims he is the rightful owner of the land which he claims he purchase from a one William Hitmana in 1995 and has been enjoying quiet/peaceful occupation for the last 23 years until last week when court bailiffs tried to evict him on instructions of a one James Mubiru.

Mubiru sought intervention of court claiming that Maj. Gen Muhwezi fraudulently obtained this land which he (Mubiru ) claims forms part of the estate of his late father the late George Ssekajjugo.

However Muhwezi contends that his eviction from the said land is pre-mature because there are pending court cases and staying orders which Mubiru over looked before securing an eviction order .

Deputy registrar Deo Nzeyimana will hear Maj Gen Muhwezi’s application on Wednesday.
