Court remands Makerere staff accused of sexual assault

Edward Kisuze was identified as the staff member caught on camera in a sexual act with a student.

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kampala has remanded to Luzira prison a Makerere University senior administrative officer who is accused of indecently assaulting a student in his office.

Edward Kisuze was arrested on April 13 after his alleged victim recorded and uploaded a video on social media showing him in a compromising position attempting to have sexual intercourse with her at the Makerere Senate building.

Kisuze was charged and has pleaded not guilty to both attempted rape and an alternative charge of indecent assault.

Presiding chief magistrate James Ereemye Mawanda set May 10, to hear Kisuze’s bail application.
