The National Water and Sewage Cooperation (NWSC) Pader/Agago branch has donated items worth Shs3 million to inmates, patients and pupils in Pader and Agago districts.

The NWSC area manager, Ms Rose Mutonyi, said their contribution is under the corporate social responsibility programme where the institution always give back to society.

She said more than 2,000 patients, inmates and pupils from Pader and Agago districts have benefited from their corporate social responsibility programme for this Easter season.

“We decided to celebrate this Easter day by giving back to the communities but we targeted patients, especially expectant mothers and children, inmates and primary school pupils in selected government facilities in the two districts,” Ms Mutonyi said

At Kineni Government Prison, 208 inmates shared Easter cake with the NWSC staff. The OC Prison, Mr Peter Nuwgaba, commended the water body for the Easter gifts, saying they show inmates that communities love them.

The chairperson Pader Urban Council, Mr Kilama Wod’acholi, who accompanies the NWSC teams to the prison, appealed to inmates to desist from bad behavior of attempting to escape from the prison.
