KAMPALA–Francis Ekalungar, an accountant at Case Clinic in Kampala, who was reported missing on Tuesday has been discovered dead in Kajjansi, a Kampala surburb.
Ekalungar was also found burnt to death with car tyres, police said.
Police believe Ekalungar, who was last seen leaving Case Clinic driving in his Premio car, was kidnapped and tortured by unknown assailants before being killed and subsequently set on fire.
The deceased has also been the chairman of Uganda Empires and Cricket Association and has officiated at several international cricket matches.
On Wednesday, the Management of Case Clinic put this announcement. This was after Hospital management did not receive any response from him when he was sent to deposit over Shs15m to the bank.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Oweyesigire, police have picked samples which have been taken to GAL for a DNA test.“We are waiting on a DNA test to confirm the identity of the body which has been forwarded to Mulago hospital for post-mortem,” Owoyesigire said.
