KAMPALA–The army is to reward a musician with the most ‘agricultural’ inspiration song with Shs100 million.

This was revealed at the launch of Operation Wealth creation’s (OWC) two-months music competition that kicked off Wednesday in Kapeeka, Luweero district.

The launch attracted renowned ‘Kadongo Kamu’ artistes including Willy Mukabya, Mathias Walukaga, Lord Fred Sebata, Vicent Segawa and Fred Sebbaale who entertained people with their compositions.

The launch attracted 20 musicians.

Speaking at the event, OWC coordinator Gen Salim Saleh said the competition will be taken to all of the regions of the country.

“As soldiers, once assigned a mission, we have to use everything in our possession to achieve it..,” said Saleh. It’s against that background that they have decided to use music as well to rally people to engage in commercial agriculture.

The musician with the best song will walk away with Shs100 million. The winner will be announced in December.
