One dead, two injured in Kamuli road accident

KAMULI–One person died instantly when a trailer KAV 119S knocked a motorcycle UDV316M along Kyabazinga Lane in Kamuli district yesterday.

According to eye witnesses the 6:30pm accident occurred when a boda boda motorcycle carrying two passengers entered the road recklessly and rammed into an oncoming trailer that was heading to jinja district.

Police identified the deceased as Stella Angulupalu while the boda boda cyclist only identified as Kutosi and another passenger only identified as Musisi were rushed to jinja Referral Hospital in critical condition.

Busoga South region police spokesperson Michael Kasadha confirmed the incident and warned boda boda riders against reckless driving.

“Boda boda riders should always endeavour to exercise caution while on the road to reduce fatalities,” Kasadha said.
