KAMPALA – The Nnabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Naginda Luswata has urged women to put sanitation and health at the forefront not only in their homes but also while in the public.
The Nnabagereka made the remarks on Wednesday, May 8, while addressing the 6th Annual Buganda Kingdom Women’s Conference at Hotel Africana, Kampala.
Naginda also urged women to be prayerful people and to live healthy lives.
The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Mutebi – in the company of Nabagereka, condemned the acts of violence on women in the country.
He said that girls are harassed especially while they struggle to look for jobs.
“These issues reach to the authorities but they have not taken action to implement laws to address such issues.” He said.
Kabaka Mwenda urged all women and the general public to stand up against domestic violence in homes.
“Stand up by reporting all the culprits involved in abusing women’s rights in homes, schools, work.” He added.
He asked women not to be silent when their other fellow women are being abused.
