Mayinja emerges overall winner at the Museveni Election Music Awards

KAMPALA – Singer Ronald Mayinja was awarded the overall winner with the best song that outlines the goodness and achievements of the NRM Party President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the MEMAs.

The awards that took place last week at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala saw other singers from the different regions in Uganda who had the achievements of president Museveni outlined well appreciated too.

The awarding ceremony was attended by several NRM supporters and organized by Balaam Ateenyi Barugahara, Mark Bugembe a.k.a Buchaman and Mama Ghetto.

In attendance too were several celebrities like Jennifer Full Figure, King Michael, Ronald Mayinja, Joseph Batte, Precious Remmy, Kabuye Sembogga, Mama Ghetto, among others were present.

City NRM politicians led by Kampala NRM Vice Chairperson Singh Katongole also graced the awards to witness who would walk away with the big prize of Ugx 5m.

The awards were overseen by a team of judges who consisted of experienced musicians, producers and media personalities.

Pastor Mondo Franklin Mugisha was also part of the judges and after a long day of stiff competition due to the big number of enormous talent that turned up for the awards, the following were the winners of the evening;

Best Female Western – Lady Mariam a.k.a Tinda Tine

· Best Male Southern – Tumwiine Julius

· Female Ghetto Superstar- Nabaka Joy Tendo

· Male Legendary Award – Shanks Vivi Dee

· Best Male Northern – Bosmic Otim

· National Overall – Ronald Mayinja (Top Prize)

· Best Eastern Region – Kadabada

· Best Western Region – Martin Kato

· Best Male Central Region – King Michael

· Female Legendary Award – Betty Nabulya

· Best Male Kampala – Fred Ssebbaale

About MEMA awards

The MEMA awards were an idea born and bred by singer-cum-Presidential Advisor Buchaman, real name Mark Bugembe and his wife Mama Ghetto.

The awards that were launched by Buchaman in company of his wife Nangajja Claire a.k.a Mama Ghetto on Monday 28th December 2020 seek to reward Ugandan artistes who, through their music, have sang out praises about the country and NRM flag bearer, also president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

They were sponsored by Kapeka Industrial Park, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba Foundation and the NRM Secretariat.
