KAMPALA – In Uganda, many musicians have become successful because of collaborations they have done and this has prompted many upcoming artists to pay for collaboration to have a taste of this success.

A collaboration is a song produced by two or more people working together and if partners are chosen right, a struggling artist will be lucky to get mileage.

Upcoming singer, OMK Innocent Man has requested 2021 Kampala Lord Mayoral hopeful Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone to honor his end of the deal and appear for the video shoot of their collaboration dubbed Yogera Nange or refund the Shs 2M, he paid him for the collaboration.

According to the Upcoming singer and his manager, early this year they agreed with Chameleone that they pay him Shs 2M to record an audio and shoot a video for a musical project titled “Yogerako Nange”.

As time went by, Chameleone as his stage name suggest, changed his mind and started telling them different stories as well as asking for more money.

“It is not a case, we just want to reach an agreement and make an appointment to see how we can get the video done but we are not going to bow to his terms as a person. We recorded the audio in early February, a week later, I set up all that was necessary for the video but Chameleone wanted to have the video done from his end which was costly,” Innocent said.

Since the upcoming singer got little money on him, he has given the Leone Island boss two options either to show face in their music video or refund their cash.

The upcoming singer went on to explain that he had hired one of the videographers who had shot one of two recent music videos that Chameleon last released.

“I have been trying to get him, I would not be in the media but the thing has gone too far as Chameleon and the manager both refuse to pick my calls. What I want is the video done, if it is not possible let me have a refund of the money so that my artist can redo the song. If we got his voice in the audio, it is only normal we have his visuals too,” said David Ocean of Ocean Beats and C.EO Modern records who also doubles as Innocent’s manager.
