KAMPALA- Makindye based local music group, the Golden Band is said to be at the verge of break down after one of its prominent band members Stecia Mayanja quit the group last week and more threatening to leave.

Sources close to the band told PML Daily that for long the directors of the group and the members have had a series of fights as the members accused the directors of favouritism, mismanagement of funds, greed, among other issues.

Stecia, on one of her media platforms told her fans that she had left her former band, Golden Band and joined Haruna Mubiru’s Kream Productions.

Stecia and Haruna worked together as band members in the disbanded Eagles Productions. Eagles disbanded and members split into two bands; De nu Eagles owned by Geoffrey Lutaaya and his wife Irene Namatovu and Golden band.

The star who is known for her big booty and great stage performances said greed and hatred from her former directors is reason she decided to throw in the towel and join Kream Productions reloaded joining former band members Charles Sekyewa, Haruna Mubiru, among others.

Mesach Semakula, one of the directors at Golden Band said, “I have worked with Stecia for more than ten years and however much it hurts to watch her leave the band, I ought to respect her decisions and ambitions. No matter how unwelcome all this is, I personally congratulate and celebrate her accomplishments with the golden band. I wish you Hajjati Faridah Stecia Mayanja the best”.

Sources say other directors Maureen Nantume and Catherine Kusasira might follow Stecia soon.

Recently Kusasira circulated a voice message where she urged her fans to think about her as Catherine Kusasira and not a member of the Golden Band.
