KAMPALA– Miss Uganda returns, 23 contestants unveiled

Uganda never held its much revered beauty pageant, Miss Uganda last year.

According to Kevin Zziwa the managing director for Kezzi Entertainment Limited, the holders of the Miss Uganda Franchise, the break was taken to re-strategize and build new partnerships.

Indeed this paid off as the Miss Uganda is back and better organised than before.

This was seen this week at Sheraton Hotel – Kampala, where the 23 contestants were unveiled in a pompous ceremony.

Kicking off at 8pm, the event began with the presentation of the former Miss Uganda under the Kwezi Franchise. Among those included Anitah Kyalimpa popularly known as Fabiola, Stellah Nantumbwe alias Ellah, Sylvia Namutebi and Leah Kagasa (Miss Uganda 2016) who is still the reigning Miss Uganda since the event wasn’t held last year.

They were followed by this year’s contestants who showcased their modelling skills on the runway.

The organisers used the opportunity to unveil their new partners who include Talent Africa, Sheraton Hotel and NBS Tv.

NBS Tv is to showcase all of the activities from the Miss Uganda boot camp while Talent Africa will handle the production.

Sheraton Hotel is to host the grand finale on 10th August, when the Miss Uganda 2018/19 will be crowned.
