KAMPALA- The South African legendary singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka, July 17 landed in Kampala ahead of her Charity Concert this Friday, July 20.

Chaka Chaka was received by the Shule Foundation team, comedian Anne Kansiime and members of the press.

The international singer will perform at the Charity Show organised by Shule Foundation in a move to help street children.

“I don’t see why we should have street kids when they have an extended family. It is your job and my job to take these kids off the streets and put them back in a classroom and make them responsible citizens,” she said.

“God has given me breath and a platform and I want to use it to the best of my abilities to help others.” said Yvonne.

“I urge you all to come out and let’s enjoy a great evening celebrating African music while supporting a good cause,” she added.

Shule Foundation celebrates Watoto Mtani Project one year anniversary where it looks forward to raising funds from the event to construct a unique educational facility for street kids.

“With 48% of the children on the streets under the age of 15, we should take it upon ourselves to ensure that these children are granted at least one basic right, which is education,” says Jacqueline Wolfson, the CEO Shule Foundation.

There will be celebration of Nelson Mandela 100th year today Wednesday 18 at Mandela National stadium in Namboole.

The real deal will take place on Friday 20th at the Kampala Serena Hotel where Chaka Chaka will perform live. Bobi Wine and comedian Salvado will also perform at the concert.

Tickets to the show are already on sale, at UGX100K(ordinary), UGX300K(VIP), and UGX5M and UGX8M for the table.
