Ann Kansiime

Celebrated female comedian Ann Kansiime seems to have started off 2018 with blessings despite her divorce with husband Gerald Ojok last year.

The girl from Mparo, Kabale in western Uganda has been awarded an Honorary recognition in this year’s SIIKETV Rising Star awards.

The awards aim at honouring and recognising excellence and celebrating hard work and dedication of independent filmmakers and entertainers.

Kansiime is to be awarded for her perseverance and success in an industry that was predominantly known to be for men and being an inspiration to other young talented women.

The awards are to take place in Philapedia on June 16, 2018.

Ann has just been in Massachusetts, London where she was one of the speakers at the African Women’s Leadership Conference at Wesley University alongside Nobel Laureate and former President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Nigerian International  Human Rights and Shariah Law Attorney Hauma Ibrahim, among others.
