KAMPALA, UGANDA – I&M Bank Uganda has continued its giving spirit, donating essential items to the Kampala School for the Physically Handicapped, the Uganda Cancer Institute, and other local communities.
As part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations, I&M Bank pledged to support the community throughout the year. The bank’s latest donations were made during Customer Service Week, with various departments engaging in outreach activities.
On Friday, staff from the William Street branch, led by Manager Barbara Kabengano, visited the Kampala School for the Physically Handicapped, donating therapeutic equipment and domestic items.
“We deeply appreciate this great gesture from I&M Bank. These items will make a real difference in the lives of our children,” said Florence Tweyambe, the school’s headteacher.
The bank’s legal and compliance department, led by Natalie Kironde and Anna Maria Ajok, donated foodstuffs and detergents to the Uganda Cancer Institute and Uganda Child Cancer Foundation.
Other beneficiaries included Kakajjo Primary School and Shimoni Primary School, which received scholastic materials from I&M Bank’s Bweyogerere and Kololo branches, respectively.
On Tuesday, the Treasury Department donated Shs 1 million, mattresses, and domestic materials to the Eseza Foundation, supporting children with cancer-related illnesses.
“I’m delighted to see our teams actively participating in community support initiatives,” said I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow. “By working together, we can really make a difference in people’s lives.”
This follows previous donations by the bank’s Operations and Customer Experience departments to the Uganda School for the Deaf in Ntinda.
