Singer Khalifa Aganaga apparently released a song in favour of President Museveni (PHOTO/File).

KAMPALA – Bad Character Boss Mukiibi Sadat alias Khalifah Aganaga is apparently one of those unhappy singers. The ‘Ekitangaaza’ singer who had his share of politics in the better half of 2020 says he is now Independent.

Aganaga woes started when he made his intentions to contest for the Rubaga South Member of Parliament seat. His dreams were however shattered when the party he subscribed to (National Unity Platform) denied him the party ticket.

He then crossed to the ruling National Resistance Movement and recorded a song with incumbent Museveni praising his (Museveni) rule and outlining his achievements ever since he captured power.

The singer has since turned into a major vocal pawn for the NRM, urging his followers on social media to support the ruling party which he says has the best plans for the nation.

He then started facing the wrath of NUP loyalists who bashed him for allegedly opting out of the struggle simply because of a party ticket.
A section of people labelled him a ‘snake’ but according to him, these are people just trying their best to intimidate him with promises of pelting bottles at him in case he stepped on stage to perform.

The talented writer who revealed how he has plans of relocating to Tanzania after the 2021electios seems to be relocating even much sooner before the elections are held.

In his independence message that he shared on his social media platforms yesterday which he has since deleted, the ‘Minakonda’ singer revealed how he is being intimidated by a certain group of people.

In the post, he asked his haters to stop forcing him into liking what they like and not to intimidate him since he bears his own opinion too.

“Please don’t force me to like what you like. Stop intimidating me with bottles and abuses just because we have a different view on an issue,” Kalifah wrote.

He further pointed out how the struggle is not paying his bills and it has been seven months without a monthly salary and hence his decision to stand on his own, not affiliated to any political party anymore.

“The struggle is not paying my bills, even now it has been 7 months without working with no monthly salary, and our kids don’t have fees. So please from today, I am Independent. I will never get affiliated to any party again to avoid disappointments and abuses,” he posted.

His posting and later deleting of the post however left many people thinking and contemplating on whether the singer was under any sort of pressure from someone.
