MUKONO – Over the weekend, the comedy fraternity was engulfed by grief as one of their own Frank Mubiru better known by many as Chiko of the Madrat and Chiko comedy duo lost his mother.

A number of comedians who were led by the president of The Uganda Comedians Association (TUCA) president Hannington Bugingo were in Mityana to offer their support and condolences to their fellow comedian.

These included Alex Muhangi, Patrick Salvador, Uncle Mark, John Segawa, Richard Tuwangye, Maulana &Reign, MC Mariachi Madrat, radio personality Kasuku and many others showed up to send off the deceased.

Chiko being a big figure in the entertainment industry, many people and the comedians were left in dismay when among the musicians fraternity only Bebe Cool’s son Allan Hendrick attended the burial to represent his dad.

“It’s so sad that we have lost our mother and thank you all comedians for the solidarity .I also can’t wait to thank singer Bebe Cool who called me and told me that he is far but sent his son Allan to represent him,” Madrat said .

The comedians at the burial expressed their displeasure with musicians for not standing with them in their time of grief.

Madrat further lamented that it is very sad that no musician appeared and they thinks they are so big yet they (comedians) are living better lives compared to them.

The comedians also said that Ugandan musicians are heartless and very broke yet they always bail them out in their time of need.

“Today it is Chiko, tomorrow it is you. We are watching you closely and time will tell. For all I care we comedians run the entertainment industry compared to you guys,”Madrat said

Chiko is a regular reveler in most of the artists’ music concerts and social causes in the music industry. He has also put his face to some of the artists’ music videos.
