KAMPALA – Legendary radio personality Jacob Akugizibwe alias Dj Jacob Omutuuze has come out to comment on what appeared as his workmates fighting his political ambitions for the LC3 Bunamwaya Division slot in Wakiso District.

This was after a video of Eddy Sendi and Isaac Katende alias Kasuku went viral online where the duo is heard sending Dj Jacob to contest in his ancestral home and not Bunamwaya.

DJ Jacob is a radio personality with Nation media owned Dembe FM. He is contesting for the slot on the National Unity Platform (NUP) party ticket.

According to DJ Jacob, he was angered by their gesture but at the same time saw it as an opportunity that God gave him to know the people he hope knobs with.

“I was here and I saw two men I work with on radio saying because of my name Akugizibwe I cannot contest in Bunamwaya, I really felt sad in my heart. I have a house and a number of businesses in Bunamwaya. I looked at the two who have eaten the music industry of Uganda and I really felt sad,” he said.

Jacob revealed that he has grown up in Bunamwaya and it is there that his life story of how he transformed from a street child to getting educated is written

“Being born and named Akugizibwe Jacob is not a crime, I am a Ugandan who has every right to contest anywhere I want. Sendi and your friend, you were paid Ugx 2 million two talk about how I am not deserving to contest in Bunamwaya and I should go where I was born, but I request you to back off my candidature,” the bitter radio personality said.

DJ Jacob Omutuuze, earlier on this week revealed that he deeply loves the National Unity Platform Party (NUP) much as it still has lots of challenges within.

One of the challenges e pointed out to be affecting the party is that it was invaded by very many ‘useful idiots’ that have brought about several misunderstandings within the party.

“I love NUP so much but it has been invaded by very many ‘useful idiots’ who play childish games toasting of the party card that leads to the demoralizing of some of its members and supporters,” he said.

DJ Jacob Omutuuze gave his opinion following the recent vetting process that was conducted at the party headquarters while choosing the party flag bearers in different positions.
