KAMPALA – Singer Ethan Kavuma, better known as Eth was on Friday declared the winner of Sanyu FM’s Hot Mic Search.
An emotional Ethan broke into tears of joy as he was announced winner at the Sanyu FM offices on Crane Chambers, receiving a hearty hug from Philomena Kyamutetera, who came second.
Ethan thought fellow contestant Timothy Code would win, he said as he received the winners medal.
Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia, Managing Director of Ruparelia Group and proprietor of 88.2 Sanyu FM said all the other contenders were winners too.
“To other contestants, you all gonna be winners, always, and this is not the end of the journey. This is what I call the start of the journey of your passion. You chose to be here not because of the money but because you wanted to follow your dreams. To me that is vital,” he said.
According the Roger Mugisha, Sanyu FM’s Programmes Director, the station received over 1,300 entries when the contest to “come out of the Covid-19 lockdown a superstar” was announced.
