KAMPALA – The management of NBS TV has described as reckless reports that they have fired one of their presenters Edwin Katamba, aka MC Kats.

Several online websites have reported that NBS TV has relieved MC Kats of his duties as the celebrity MC gets treatment after he was found HIV positive.

But in an email exchange with this website on Friday, NBS TV communications officer Derekford Mugumisa described the reports as reckless and heartless.

“MC Kats is away on leave, in agreement with him. This leave is set to come to an end at the end of this month, subject to review from both ends on the progress he is making, and we are in constant contact with him and his family on this,” Mugumisa explained.

Speaking at his Celebrity Night at Fame Lounge in December 2019, MC Kats said his HIV status and pneumonia were the real reasons he had been admitted to a hospital in London.

Rumour had it that the MC had run mad, the reason he was admitted to hospital but he denied this.

“Whoever said I was mad, I was taken into a body machine, a brain-machine and all other processes until the white man said I needed to be discharged because I didn’t have any problem,” he said.

” I refused and told them how they wasted my time because I have pneumonia and AIDS and that it’s what they should help me with,” Kats added.
